Mrs. Dorothy E. Andrejewski, of South Walnut Street, Wilkes-Barre Township, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born May 6, 1949, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth Ritz Cook. Dorothy attended Wilkes-Barre area schools and was employed at Muskin Leisure Company for 25 years and at Universal Printing Company for five years. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Wilkes-Barre.

Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved decorating for the holidays, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. She also enjoyed knitting, gardening and caring for her many house plants.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Francis Gallagher.

Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Joseph Andrejewski; daughters, Donna M. Ashford (Nina) and her husband, John Ashford Sr., of Wilkes-Barre Township; Carrie Ann Podcasy and her fiancé, Louis Forte, of Wilkes-Barre Township; Joelle Andrejewski and her fiancé, Kelvin Edwards Sr., of Nanticoke; Christine Andrejewski, of Wilkes-Barre Township, and Jolene Andrejewski Knecht, of Shavertown; grandchildren, John Ashford Jr. and his wife, Leah Ashford; Joseph Ashford; Carina Ann Forte (Missy Lou); Jayden Heath; Kelvin Edwards Jr.; great-granddaughter, Devin Ashford; brothers Joseph Cook and his wife, Kim, of Edwardsville; Thomas Cook, of Kingston; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Parish at St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception, South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. Thomas V. Banick, pastor, will be celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Monday at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m.
