"William Cooper died at Westford Monday, December 5th, of acute Bright's disease. He was born December 15, 1863 and is survived b two sisters and a brother. The funeral will be held Thursday at one o'clock, the Rev. T. F. Hall officiating with interment in Lakewood cemetery." [The Otsego Farmer & Republican (Cooperstown, NY), Dec. 9, 1921, p. 4]

"The death of William Cooper occurred at Westford on Monday, December 5th, caused by acute Bright's disease. Mr. Cooper was a fine man, and a respected farmer in his community. He was born December 15th, 1863, on the farm on which he died. He is survived by three sisters, Amelia, Ella and Flora Cooper, and by one brother, George Cooper. The funeral was held on Thursday of last week at one o'clock, and a goodly number of relatives and friends were present. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. T. F. Hall, and consisted of scripture reading, short prayer and brief remarks. Burial was in Lakewood cemetery.
