Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ladd Corbett are receiving congratulations upon the birth of a daughter, born yesterday morning. Mrs. Corebett was formerly Miss Gretchen Hoyt of New York, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Resse Hoyt.

The young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ladd Corbett is to be christened today at their West Park street residence. The child will be named Helen Elizabeth, for her grandmother, Mrs. Helen Ladd Corbett, and for Mrs. Henry Corbett’s sister, Miss Elizabeth Hoyt, of New York. The godmothers will be Miss Hoyt and Miss Lesly Smith, and Elliott Corbett is to be the godfather. At the ceremony will be Mrs. H. W. Corbett, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ladd, Mr. and Mrs. William Ladd and their son, Henry, Mr. and Mrs. J. Wesley Ladd and their daughter, Miss Helen, in fact all of the relatives, as well as a number of the members of the younger set. Dr. A. A. Morrison will conduct the baptismal service.

HELEN E. CORBETT

A service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 1994, in St. Michael the Archangel Church.
Miss Corbett died Nov. 6 at age 84.

She was born Feb. 17, 1910, in Portland to an Oregon pioneer family. She graduated from Vassar College and worked as a psychiatric social worker in New York City.

Miss Corbett returned 10 years ago to Portland, where she was a patron of the arts.

Survivors are her brothers, Henry L. Jr. of Portland and Alfred H. of Camp Sherman; sister, Rosina C. Morgan of McMinnville; and 11 nieces and nephews.

Remembrances: Portland Baroque Orchestra, 610 S.W. Broadway.
