Charlotte B. Corbett, retired owner of the Fifth Avenue Dress Shop, died Tuesday in a Portland nursing home. She was 82.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Riverview Cemetery Chapel, with private interment following in Riverview Cemetery.
Mrs. Corbett, a lifelong resident of Portland, attended the Rosemary Hall school in Connecticut, graduating from Portland Academy. She opened the dress store in 1931 and operated it for about 40 years until her retirement.
She was a member of the Colonial Dames, Waverly Club, University Club, the Portland Racquet and Garden clubs, the Town Club, the Astoria Golf Club, the Oregon Historical Society and the Portland Art Museum.
Survivors are her daughter Chaddi Beattie of Portland; sister, Harriett Hall of Eugene; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the Oregon Historical Society.
