Grandpa Del Mar was born as Narcisso Del Mar Rafael Castillo to Mother Elsa Araya Castillo and her Husband, first name possibly Benjamin, from Palmares, Costa Rica. He was a Private First Class in the Military Service of The United States from Nov 2nd till Sept 10th 1945 when he was Honorably Discharged. He was awarded the World War 2 Victory Medal and/or The American Defense Service Medal issued at Hollywood California on Nov 10 1947. He was also an actor in Hollywood California before and after he was in the service. It was while he was in the movie business that he had his last name spelling changed to Costello from Castillo to make it easier for him to make the move from Costa Rica to here somehow. He had one son named James Dewey Costello while married to Frances and divorced a year later in 1945. As far as the family knows he never saw his first son James Dewey again. He had one other son named Alan Roberts Costello while married to Dorothy Togstad. He later divorced again and remarried Ethel E. Costello. He is buried in San Fernando Mission Cemetery in San Fernando Calif and his wife Ethel E Costello is buried at Riverside National Cemetery.
