John H. Couzins, who lived west of Borger on the Hazlewood lease, died this morning in the Veterans' Hospital in Amarillo.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Minton Mortuary.

Funeral services for John H. Couzins, 27-year resident of the Tri-City area, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Minton Memorial Chapel.

The military rites will be conducted by Chaplain and interment in Highland Park Cemetery.

He died Tuesday at 6 a.m. in Veterans Hospital in Amarillo. The 73-year-old oil field worker was an employee of the J.M. Huber Corporation and lived at the Hazlewood lease west of Borger.

A veteran of World War I, Couzins was an honorary member of American Legion post 412. He had been a member of the Shidler, Okla., Masonic lodge for 41 years.

Survivors include the widow, Monta; a step-son, James M. Gardner of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. W.A. Braun of Iola, Kan.; one brother, Charles of Bushnell, Iowa; and a niece, Mrs. J.B. Foley of Borger.
