Rebecca Jeanette Craft Ewing, 95, of Lexington, Va., died Friday, January 23, 2009. The daughter of the late Mary Myrtle Wilhelm Craft and George Otho Craft, of Kerrs Creek. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Mackey Ewing.

Surviving children are Ann Mackey Ewing Saunders and husband, Luther Reeves Saunders, Mary Jane Ewing Barrett and husband, Paul Dennis Barrett, and Janet Sue Ewing; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. One living sister, Beatrice Craft Goodbar. Deceased siblings are Lydia Craft Gills, Reba Craft Smith, Bittle Craft, Palmer Craft, Mozy Craft, Payton Craft, Otho Craft.

Jeanette was a partner of Ewing Studio, in Lexington, a member of Manly Memorial Baptist Church, Stonewall Jackson Hospitl Auxiliary, Fairfield Senior Center and was a Girl Scout Leader.

Funeral services will be officiated by her nephews, Norman L. Craft and Gerald Wayne Craft, at Harrison Chapel on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Oxford Presbyterian Cemetery, Lexington, Va.
