PARKERSBURG - Alva Thelma Craig, 92, of Parkersburg passed away Feb. 14, 2003, at her daughter's residence.
She was born Dec. 31, 1910, in Montvale, Va., a daughter of the late Samuel F. and Nora Layne Franklin. She was retired from the Coning Department at American Viscoes and was the oldest member of the Edgelawn United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the T.O.P.S. club, the United Methodist Women and was an avid quilter.
She is survived by two daughters, Thelma Irene Mathess and husband Gearold of Parkersburg and Nora Virginia Clinton of Boaz; two sisters, Ollie M. Franklin and Marylee Holcomb, both of Roanoke, Va.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cofer C. Craig; three brothers; and one sister.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, the Rev. Danny McVey officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home
