Katherine was the wife of Percival Brown affectionately know as "Uncle Brownie". Percy and Kit had two sons: (1) Joseph Brown, who was a stillborn (2) Rev. David Crane Brown, an Episcopalian Priest and lifelong batchelor.

Kit, Percy and David lived in Brooklyn, NY until Percy's death.

Percy had a untimely "parasitic" death at age 53. Her friend and "adopted" sister, Catherine Lee, an unmarried only child, lived with Kit and David until her death.

Kit, Kay and David lived in Tuckahoe, NY, Ridgefield Park, NJ and Hackensack, NJ.

Katherine Brown's parents were Joseph Henry and Harriet L. Milligan Crane.
