Born on March 10, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John and Mae Cronin of Brooklyn, NY. Mrs. Barry was a graduate of Girl's Commercial High School in New York and was employed by Equitable Life Insurance Company of New York for several years. She and her family were longtime members of Immaculate Conception Church of Durham.
Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She especially enjoyed the occasions that brought together all of her children and grandchildren. She lived her life with a strong faith in God.
She is survived by her son, Thomas J Barry and wife Carol Ann of Charlotte; daughter, Margaret Mary McGillivray and husband Stuart of Tampa, Florida; son, Robert J Barry and wife Elaine Buxton Barry of Cary; grandchildren, Matthew Christopher Barry, Megan Elizabeth Barry, Kathleen Allison Barry, Sarah Nicole Barry, Alan Thomas McGillivray, Erin Hart Barry, Laura Rosalyn Barry, and Ethan Buxton Barry. She was preceded in death by a brother, Martin, and a sister, Elizabeth, both of Brooklyn, NY.
