A native of Winston-Salem, Rev. Anderson graduated from Paisley Senior High School and Winston-Salem State University. She was the senior pastor of Shouse Temple CME Church and had retired from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system after 30 years of service. She was preceeded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth Croxton, and her husband, Robert E. Anderson.
