Margarett Sharon Cates, 63, loving wife, mother and Nana, of Lake Dallas passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Denton Regional Medical Center. She was born August 13, 1945 in Detroit, Texas to Rhoedolphus Maurice Croxton and Lenora Belle English Croxton. She married Bobby Gene Cates, Sr. on June 30, 1961 in Mesquite. She had retired from Golden Distributing Co., was a former member of Lake Dallas Chamber of Commerce and former member of Lake Dallas Booster Club.

Visitation will be Monday, May 11, 2009 from 6 – 8 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Lake Shore Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Cates of Lake Dallas; daughter, Tina Schafer of Lake Dallas; son, Bobby Gene Cates Jr. and wife Tammy of Corinth; grandchildren, Bryan English, Paige Cates and Cassie Schafer; sister, Ava Schmitt of Mesquite; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bond of Wills Point; brother-in-law, Clyde Pierce and wife Donna of Wills Point.
