Another Sorell worthy has just passed away; and the grave has closed over the remains of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Allanby. The deceased lady arrived with her husband in Tasmania fifty-four years ago, and immediately settled at Sorell, then known as Pitt-water, and there lived until she died, in the 76th year of her age, on the 9th instant, her husband (the late Mr. W. Allanby) having been dead for thirty-one years. Mrs. Allanby was the mother of a numerous, respected, and respectable family. Five of her sons and two of her daughters survive their mother. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. C. J. Brammall; the pall was was borne by the Rev. R. E. Dear, Messrs. G. Marshall, sen., C. Hazell, and Richard Clement Crocker; and the chief mourners were her sons, the Rev. Christopher Allanby (of Ballarat), Mr. J. W. Allanby, J.P. (of Bream Creek), Mr. W. S. Allanby, J.P. (of Latrobe), and Mr. Llewellyn Allanby (of Flimby Park).
