Minnie Currier Apgar was the daughter of Edwin Moses Currier and Sarah Ann Haines. It is likely that she was named for her grandmother, Minerva Howell Haines.

In 1885, Minnie married Daniel Apgar. They had five children:
*Verdie Ethel Apgar (1866-1961);
*Chester Daniel Apgar (1888-1949);
*Edwin Vivian Apgar (1890-1961);
*Orel D Apgar (1893-1928); and
*Goldie Evelyn Apgar (1899-1977).
