BANNING - Mary C. Bailiff, a resident of the Pass area for 74 years, died at the San Gorgonio Pass Memorial Hospital on January 8. She was 90 years old.
Mrs. Bailiff was born in Rathdrum, Idaho and lived most of her adult years on the Bailiff Ranch in Cabazon.
She was a member of the Eastern Star Rebekah Lodge and a Gold Star Mother. She was a charter member of the Banning Charter of the White Shrine.
Funeral services will be held at Wiefels and son Banning Chapel on Thursday, January 12, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Joseph Berkner will officiate. Internment will be at San Gorgonio Memorial Park in Banning.
Mrs. Bailiff is survived by her daughter, Carol B. Sathre of Arvada, Colorado; two sons, Daniel O Bailiff of Riverside; and Bert A Bailiff of Banning (her son, Edward C. Bailiff died during World War II while serving as a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.); five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Her husband, Roswell Edward Bailiff, was the first male child born to a settler family in the Pass area. He was a Southern Pacific Telegrapher in Cabazon for many years.
Friends may call at Weifels and Son Banning Chapel, 50 E. Nicolet , on Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m.
