Mary E. Allan, 86, of Mont Marie Healthcare Center, Holyoke, MA., formerly of 7 Atlantic St., died Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at the Holyoke Medical Center.
She was the wife of the late Thomas Stanley Allan.
Born in Fall River, MA., on January 3, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Murphy Cusick. Mary was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, and the former Burrough Business School in Boston.
From 1945 -1947 Mary worked at J.T. O'Connell's on Long Wharf in Newport, RI. She belonged to Easton's Beach for 65 years where she and her friends were members of the White Hat Club. She was a parishioner of St. Augustin's Church of Newport, and St. Lucy's Church in Middletown.
Mary is survived by her children, Thomas M. Allan and his wife MaryAnne (Miller) Allan of Middletown, Sr. Carol Allan, Sister's of St. Joseph of Chicopee, MA., and Garry A. Allan and his wife Lori (Fische) Allan or Portsmouth; grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Amanda, Stephanie, Blake, and Andrew Allan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 18, at 9:00am in St. Lucy's Church, 909 W. Main Rd., Middletown. Burial at Newport Memorial Park. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, from 4:00-7:00pm, in the O'Neill–Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring St., Newport, RI., 02840.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mary's memory to Sister's of St. Joseph, Mont Marie, 34 Lower Westfield Rd., Ste.1, Holyoke, MA., 01040.
