Mrs. Florence J. (O'Keefe) Cusick, wife of Dr. Thomas F. Cusick, Chairman of the Taunton Board of Health and daughter of Simon and Johanna O'Keefe, passed away on Sunday at her late residence 168 Weir Street following an illness of long duration. Mrs. Cusick was a native of this city and was educated in the Taunton public schools, at Taunton High School, and at the Bristol County Business College. On the completion of her studies, she entered the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company at the central office on Court Street where she served for a number of years as a supervisor and was a most trusted and faithful employee. She was a woman who was highly respected and admired by all who knew her and she ever adhered to those true principles which denote a Christian woman of the highest type. During her long illness which she bore with true Christian fortitude, she was ever mindful of the wishes and desires of others and always found solace in doing something worthwhile for others, a real attribute of those possessed of Christian charity.
For a number of years she had been a faithful communicant of the Sacred Heart Church at the Weir, but of late years, she was a member of St. Mary's parish. Besides her parents and her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Natalie Jean Cusick; three brothers, William F. O'Keefe of Chicago, Dr. Clarence S. O'Keefe of Taunton, and H. Lester O'Keefe of New York; three sisters, Mrs. James F. Mullins, Miss Ella V. O'Keefe, and Mrs. Thomas J. McGuire, all of Taunton.
Funeral services will be held from her late residence 168 Weir Street on Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock followed by a solemn high mass of requiem at St. Mary's Church at 9 o'clock. A cordial invitation is extended to relatives and friends.
