Daughter of Andrew and Flora Ann Dafoe of Ontario, Canada. Flora immigrated to the US in 1860. In 1875 she married Wesley Beemer and they lived in Maple Valley, Sanilac County until the 1920's. Then moved to Yale, St. Claire County.

Wesley and Flora had three children:
Elizabeth Beemer - Turnbill of Kalamazoo 1879 - 1944
Francis (Frank) Beemer of Sanilac 1883 - 1944
Nellie Beemer - Bechtel of Yale, St. Claire 1884 - 1967
