Norman Defoe Dies Suddenly
A much respected citizen of Calgary passed away last evening in the person of Mr. Norman Defoe at the age of 73 years. On Friday of last week he was taken ill with influenza, which later developed into pneumonia. The deceased was a native of Tweed, Ontario, having come to Calgary in 1902. He leaves a host of friends in the city as well as in the east. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sisters and four brothers, Mrs. John Carleton Moneymore, Ont., Miss Mary Dafoe and Mrs. R. Gordon, Winnipeg, John Dafoe, Claresholm, Samuel and Maxwell of Tweed, Ont., and Dr. W.A. Dafoe, of Madoc, Ont.
The funeral will be held at the family residence, 332 Twelfth avenue east, Friday, at 3 p.m. The remains will be laid to rest in the Union cemetery, Mr. Coulter officiating.
