Zelda Mattie Brink, a long time resident of Forest Grove, died Feb. 17 at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro following an extended illness. Funeral services where held Feb. 21 at Fuiten-Rose Mortuary Chapel in Forest Grove with the Rev. Ivan Marble officiating. Concluding rites and vault interment followed at Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove.

Mrs. Brink was born May 19, 1916 at Gresham, where she was raised and received her education. She graduated from Gresham High School. Upon completing her schooling she worked as a housekeeper.

She married Henry E. Brink on Jan. 7, 1939 at Vancouver, Wash. Following their marriage they resided at Pleasant Home, Ore. for three years until 1942 when they moved to Gresham.

Wile living in Gresham, Mrs. Brink worked at Gunderson AirCraft Company and during World War II, she worked in the Bingham-Willamette Shipyards as a welder. In 1946 the couple moved to Cherry Grove where they resided for 12 years, until 1958 when they moved to their present home in Forest Grove.

After moving to Washington County Mrs. Brink worked for Hudson House Cannery, Bird's Eye Cannery and Gray and Company Cannery in Forest Grove.

Mrs. Brink was a member of the Lutheran faith, having been a member of the Gresham Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Henry of Forest Grove; a son, Jerry Brink of Forest Grove; and two brothers, Harold Dahl of Portland and Lewis Dahl of Hermiston.
