Stephen Danyi, 93, of Daisytown died at 1:10 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 1985, in Brownsville General Hospital.
Born October 8, 1892, in Hungary, he was the son of John and Mary Zinger Danyi.
Mr. Danyi had been a resident of the Daisytown area for the past 77 years.
Before retiring, he was employed as a coal miner by Jones and Laughlin Steel Corp., Vesta No. 4 Mine.
He was a member of UMWA Local 1787, Assumption Church of Daisytown, St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Brownsville, Hungarian Club of Daisytown, William Penn Fraternal Association and Hungarian Reformed Federation.
On October 14, 1916, he married Julia Settie, who died October 11, 1954.
Surviving are seven daughters, Elizabeth Vargo Bosnyak of Columbus, Ind., Julia Zanella and Mary Moore, both of Verona, Anna R. Macalak and Verona Chernay, both of Daisytown, Helen Danyi of North Braddock and Priscilla Majoros of Blainesburg; two sons, Alex Danyi of Long Branch and John Danyi of Hillsboro, Ohio; 39 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Deceased are two sons, Steve Adam Danyi, who died June 3, 1985, and John Danyi, and two daughters, Emma Shaffer, who died October 4, 1981, and Mary Danyi.
