A native of Lafayette, she was a homemaker and volunteer.
She is survived by her two devoted sons and their wives, Jay and Cathy Dardenne of Baton Rouge and Richard and Marilyn Dardenne of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandsons, John Dardenne, Los Angeles, California; Matt Dardenne, Baton Rouge; Ricky Dardenne, Fort Worth and Cory Dardenne, Fort Worth; two step-grandchildren, Tommy Faulkenberry and his wife, Mary, and Sarah Chappell and her husband, Jay, and their children; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Johnny; her parents, Nathan and Ula Coronna Abramson; two aunts, Gertrude Slabotsky and Rosalie Gainsburgh; two brothers, Dr. Albert Abramson and Dr. S.R. Abramson; two sisters, Bertha A. McCowan and Natalie A. Weill.
She was a graduate of Southwestern Louisiana Institute, now ULL, and was president of numerous organizations, including the Temple B'nai Israel Sisterhood, the United Givers and several PTAs and Mothers Clubs.
Visiting will be at Rabenhorst on Government Street, Baton Rouge, from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, March 7; visiting at Temple B'Nai Israel from 10 to 11 A.M. Tuesday, March 8, with services conducted at the synagogue at 11:00 A.M. She will be interred in the Jewish Cemetery in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and Dr. Robert Abrasion.
