Daughter of Nicolas and Lanah Darling
The Otsego Farmer, November 11 1898
Mrs. E. D. Bice
Mrs. Elizabeth D. Bice, relict of the late Andrew Bice of Westford, died early Saturday Morning at the home of her grandson, Andrew B. Saxton at Oneonta. Mrs. bice was born in Dutchess county, Nov. 2. 1804, being 94 years old at the time of her demise. Until two years ago she retained a remarkable degree of her vigor, however, her health failed; but so gradually her death comes as a great shock to the family and to the few friends who knew her intimately. mrs. Bice moved from her native county to Otsego about the year 1835, and her home has ever since been in this county. For more than three-quarters of a century she had been a consistent member of the methodist Episcopal church. other immediate relativesof the deceased are a son, henry Bice of Schenevus, a granddaughter, mrs. John J. Mitchell of Oneonta and two grandchildren in Iowa. After a short funeral service held Sunday morning, from Mr. Saxton's home, the Rev. H.C. McDermott officiating, the body was taken to Westville for interment where the REv. F.h. parsons read the commitment.
