Dawn Patricia Davey Auerbach died June 22, 2007, in Nashville, Tenn., of respiratory failure. She was born Oct. 30, 1926, in Chicago, Ill. Mrs. Auerbach graduated from the University of Chicago with a BS degree in Library Science. She was a librarian at Chicago's Museum of Natural History. She married Dr. Stanley Auerbach, former director of the Environmental Sciences Division at ORNL, in 1954 and moved to Oak Ridge, Tenn. Mrs. Auerbach volunteered in many activities including Oak Ridge Children's Library and the YWCA. She was an active
patron of the arts and member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife and mother. Survived by four children: Dr. Andrew Auerbach (wife Jinhee),
Wichita, Kan., Anne Auerbach, Nashville, Tenn., Jonathan Auerbach, Lyons, Colo., and Alison Auerbach, Nashville, Tenn. Also survived by granddaughter Tori Auerbach, Wichita, Kan., and cousins Katherine Shirley, Stonington, Conn., and Susan Server, Key West, Fla. Mrs. Auerbach was preceded in death by husband, Stanley; mother, Erin Davey; and brother, Denis Davey. Services will be held at
St. Mary's Catholic Church on Monday, June 26, at 10 a.m. with Father Michael Woods officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Arthritis Foundation, 1330 West Peachtree St., Atlanta, GA 30303. Weatherford Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
