Cecile Nellie Wadsworth Reid Foster Davis was born in Alamo, Nevada on June 4, 1919 to Leonard E. and Cecile V. Wadsworth. She departed this life on November 5, 2013. Nell Davis spent the past six years battling back from severe injuries, suffered in two major falls, and from the final devastating effects of breast cancer. There was never a complaint, but her inner strengths dominated this long, painful journey. Nell was first a wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family and her affiliation with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Music was her source of inspiration and she gave freely of her talents to the church through her piano, organ, and choral work. She spent years working in both the St. George and Las Vegas Temples, and found an inner peace in doing so. When she and Karl Foster, her second husband, built their home on Bonanza Road, it was designed so that she awoke each morning and could look across the street at the temple. The arts were significant in Nell's life. Paintings and music surrounded her. She loved to travel and made life-long friends from all-around the world who visited her regularly when they journeyed to Las Vegas. She loved to entertain, and making desserts was her specialty. After thirty-four years of working at Centel, later Sprint, Nell retired and finally took time to study piano and keep her extended family together. Nell was a walker and in her early years, she could out run all of the boys in Alamo. Until the day of her first accident, she walked around Sunrise Mountain, at least a mile every day. She was a Nevada child; a native of the desert; and was fiercely loyal to Alamo and Pahranagat Valley. She lived in Las Vegas after the death of her first husband, F. Horace Reid, and considered Las Vegas her final home. She will rest by the side of her second husband, Karl Foster, at Palm Eastern Mortuary. Grieving her loss and surviving Cecile Nellie are her three children, Jocelyn Kaye Jensen and beloved husband, Ronald B. of Las Vegas, Nevada; Fredrick Walter Reid and his cherished wife, Dawn of Reno, Nevada; and Leonard Kent Reid and his sweet wife, Tawnya of Jacksonville, Oregon. Additionally, Nell was a second mother to the children of Karl Foster and Richard Davis. A beautiful obligation to make a difference in the world rests upon the shoulders of her 15 surviving grandchildren: Rustin, Stephanie, Summer, Ben, Sienna, Carmalee, Ember, Brette, Kerry, Chawna, Michelle, Cody, Scott, Steve, and Tony; and her eighteen great-grandchildren. In memory of Cecile Nellie Wadsworth Reid Foster Davis, monetary gifts should be made to Wilma's Home in her name. The care she received under the auspice of Ms. Patricia Diaz should be recognized and carried on for others who will one day require a loving, caring environment of the type Nell so lovingly received. There will be a visitation held on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 4:00-8:00pm. On Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 10:00-11:00am there will be a family viewing held followed by a Celebration of her life from 11:00-noon. All services will be held at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue.
