James Vincenzo "Davide" Davis, 96, of Henderson, passed away Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011. He was born Jan. 11, 1915, to Carmela and Joseph Davide, in Hazelton, Pa., and was a resident of Nevada for over 10 years.
Jim served in the U.S. Army in Hawaii during World War II and was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He was a retired master carpenter.
Jim had a long and good life and will be remembered by everyone who touched his life. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ostafy Davis; brothers, Michael and Dominic; sisters, Mary DiCello, Ann Striebeck and Josephine Davis.
Jim is survived by his son, James (Marianne) Davis Jr.; daughters, Joan Brooks, Ann Marie (Dr. Mace) Beckson and Donna Camille Davis; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 9:15-10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, with funeral Mass following, both at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 130 N. Pecos Road in Henderson.
