Helen Pleitner, 71, Bismarck, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 29, 2011, at Medcenter One, Bismarck, surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Helen Ann Davis was born Feb. 25, 1940, in New Jersey. Helen was adopted by the Jenson's and grew up in New York state. Helen had one daughter, Maria, born in 1958. She married Gerald J. Kettleson in 1962, and they had four children, twin daughters, Cindy and Linda in 1963, son, Gary in 1964, and son, Brian in 1970. Helen and Gerald divorced in 1973. She later married Ron Joseph Pleitner in Fargo in 1982.
Helen's hobbies were looking for treasures at second hand stores and garage sales, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her two dogs, Spunky and Champ.
She worked as a nurse's aide, Navy recruiter and cocktail waitress.
Helen is survived by her husband, Ron, Bismarck; her children, Maria Mohiuddin, Bangladesh, Cindy (Ken) Connell, Bismarck, Linda (Keith) Nelson, West Fargo, and Brian (Deb) Kettleson, Devils Lake; her grandchildren, Cody Nelson, Cassey Nelson, Lane Nelson, Haakon Nelson, Alison (Steven) Blank, Michael Connell, Joey Matuska, Chance Connell, Austynn Kettleson, Shahin Mohiuddin, Sieful Mohiuddin and Nori Mohiuddin; her great-grandchildren, Tavin Connell and Myla and Liam Blank; her sister-in-law, Sister Mary Lou Pleitner, CSJ; and her brother-in-law, Jim Pleitner.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gary; and her half-sister, Georgie.
