Jane D. Anderson, 90, of Michigan, died Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Woodland Terrace in Bridgman.

Born July 1, 1916 in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of Clark R. and Lela (Harner) Davis, both deceased. She married John Sam Anderson July 1, 1944; he preceded her in death in 1977.

Mrs. Anderson graduated from Ohio State University where she was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority. She taught middle school English and choral music during her more than 30 years of teaching.

Survivors include one son, J.C. Anderson (and wife Nancy) of Stevensville, Mich.; one daughter, Judy Anderson of Hastings, Mich.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home in St. Joseph, Mich. with the Rev. Greg Prather officiating. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Michigan and from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville. A local service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Todd Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Mitchell officiating. There also will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Thursday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rush County Community Foundation c/o the John Sam Anderson Scholarship Fund.
