Andy was retired from Sun Oil after 43 years of service when he relocated to Edgewater, FL and then came home to Smyrna, DE in 1996.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tressa Wilson Davis, who died in 1962 and Andrew J. Davis, who died in 1981. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary J. Smith, in 1992. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Patricia Gerres Davis; his 5 children, Richard D. Alexander and his wife, Lisa P., of New Castle, Margaret D. Dougherty and her husband, Paul M. Sr., of Newark, Andrew J. Davis, of Bear, M. Adam Davis and his companion, Stephen Brodsky, of Philadelphia, PA, and Joseph M. Alexander, of Smyrna; 5 grandchildren, Jessica A. Fincham and her husband, Rory of Rising Sun, MD, Christina Cumpston, of Rehoboth, Paul Michael Dougherty Jr., of Newark and Michael T. and Matthew T. Alexander, of New Castle; and a sister, Kathryn S. Green, of Smyrna.
Services and interment will be held 1 pm, Tuesday, March 6 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd., near Newark.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to Delaware Hospice Inc., 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
