Agnes Beeter, 97, of Minot, died peacefully in her home on Friday, June 13, 2014.

Agnes was born near Deering, ND on May 6, 1917 to John and Johanna (Suhern) Davis, who were immigrant homesteaders. She received her education through country schools in the area, graduating from Granville High School in 1936.

She met Raymond Beeter at a country dance, they fell in love and were united in marriage on Feb. 7, 1938 in Minot at St. Leo's Church. Together they shared 64 years of marriage, until Raymond's passing in 2002. They made their home in rural Minot over the years, but spent six years in New Rockford, ND in the late 1940's when Raymond managed the stockyards there.

Agnes and Raymond raised and nurtured a family of twelve children. In addition to her full-time job as a mother, Agnes also worked as a cook/waitress at the Moose Lodge in Minot for 13 years until she retired in 1978. Though they struggled at times, Raymond and Agnes were committed to Catholic education, and all their children attended Catholic schools.

Raymond worked for the Farmers' Union and after retirement, the couple operated an antiques and collectibles business from their home. They were regulars at auctions and flea markets and loved to travel to a good sale. In their retirement years, Agnes and Raymond could be found wintering in Arizona, setting up shop in Quartzite. In the summer months, they also sold watermelons from their home and at flea markets and auctions. Their children and grandchildren were always happy to pitch-in and help with the melons.

Agnes was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Moose Lodge and the Homemaker's Club, all of Minot. She enjoyed gardening, feeding wild birds, reading and sewing, and she never missed a televised Minnesota Twins game. She also took time to travel, often visiting out-of-state family. Agnes will be deeply missed by all who shared in her life.

Her loving family includes, children, Sharon (Riley) Goforth, Helena, MT, Sandra (Carl) Hansen, Redding, CA, John ‘Jack' (Rosie) Beeter, Anchorage, AK, Merle (Janet) Beeter, Palmer, AK, Gary Beeter, Rolette, ND, James ‘Jim' Beeter, Chistochina, AK, JoAnne (Norm) Canney, Helena, MT, Diane (Ross) Tode, Helena, MT, Betty (Randy) Kevwitch, Paradise, CA, Bernard ‘Bernie' (Bonnie) Beeter, Minot, ND, Deborah ‘Debbie' Beeter, Redding, CA and Patrick (Diana) Beeter, Minot, ND; 39 grandchildren, 78 great- grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; and brother Walter (Eunice) Davis, Phoenix, AZ along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
