Agnes Ann Bazal was born October 23, 1915 near Lankin, ND, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Novak) Bazal. She attended schools in Orr, ND; Park River, ND and graduated from Grafton High School in 1933. She received her teaching degree from Mayville State Teacher's College. She taught schools at Acton Township and Union School Dist. #40.
Agnes was united in marriage to Percy Davis on November 24, 1937 at St. John's in Grafton. The couple lived and farmed near Grafton. She taught migrant school in Nash and taught Catechism at St. John's for many years. Percy died on September 21, 1992. Agnes remained on the farm until 2011 when she moved into Leisure Estates.
Agnes was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Altar Society and the North Dakota China Painters Guild. She was active with the Federated Women's Club and Riverside Homemaker's. She served as clerk of Union School Dist. #40 for many years and was active in the Auburn Family Fun Club.
Agnes is survived by her children: Vicki (Curtis) Nelson, Yucca Valley, CA; Gayle (Robert) Lee, Harvey, ND; Douglas (Janelle) Davis, Grafton, ND; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Sandra, grandson Ross and brother Merle.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 3:00 PM at St. John's Catholic Church of Grafton.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
