Sylvia Belle Beeghly, 84 of Oakland died on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home in Oakland. She was born on December 7, 1927 in Bayard, WV, the daughter of the late Lee and Sylvia Ann (Winters) Davy. She worked at Englander's Drug Store many years. Sylvia was a member of the Gortner Union Church and Oak Park Church of the Brethren. Sylvia will be remembered for her enjoyment of bowling and quilting as well as her active involvement in the church and the loving way in which she raised her family. She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Harry Beeghly; three daughters, Susan E. Gnegy and husband Ron of Mt. Lake Park, Donna L. Schrier and husband Hugh of Oakland, and Sandra L. Simpson and husband Roger of Mt. Lake Park; two sons, Randall R. Beeghly and wife Tina of KS and Thomas R. Beeghly of Oakland; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Bertie Barkley of Parsons, WV; and a brother, Alfred Davy of TN. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Idalene Reese; two brothers, Garrett and Linwood Davy; also two infant silbling. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N. 2nd St, Oakland, MD. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Oak Park Church of the Brethren with Rev. Steve Sauder and Rev. Carl Fike officiating. Interment will follow in the Gortner Union Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gortner Union Church, 4391 Mason School Rd., Oakland, MD 21550 or Oak Park Church of the Brethren, 110 Church Lane, Mt. Lake Park, MD.
