Mrs. Nola D. Basinger, 80, of Owensboro, KY, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at 7:41 P.M., at Brighton Cornerstone Health Care in Madisonville, KY.

Born August 10, 1926, in Webster County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Ruby Dinneson Dawes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Damon Carter; second husband, Carl Victor Basinger and three sisters, Agnes Hill, Katherine Crowley and Joyce Bell.

She was a housewife and a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church.

Mrs. Basinger is survived by a daughter, Margaret (Badger) Carr of Madisonville; two sisters, Jean Tipton of Madisonville and Lucille Baer of Washington, PA; three grandchildren, Ginger Foster of Madisonville, Art Badger of Dalton, KY, and Karen Townsell of Madisonville and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 1, 2007, at 10:00 A.M., at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bros. Dennis Mayfield and Shannon Owen officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery in Hanson, KY.

Pallbearers will be Art Badger, Richard Schuelke, Bill Carr, Charlie Crowley, Phillip Henry and Robert Kirby. Alvis Tipton will be an honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 31, 2007, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., and from 8:00 A.M. until the service time on Friday at the funeral home.
