Lucille Dawkins Andrews, of Asheboro died Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Dec. 8 at First United Methodist Church in Asheboro, of which she was a member, officiated by the Rev. Sylvia Wilhelm. Burial will followed in Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the service.

Mrs. Andrews was a native of Montgomery County, born to Carl and Myrtle Spoon Dawkins. She was a valedictorian graduate of Mt. Gilead High School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Scarboro Andrews; sisters Kathleen Shaw, Dorothy Hubbard, Lota Lee Maynor, Carrie White and Gladys Nordan.

Survivors include daughters Debra Dorsett of Midlothian, Va., and Donna Andrews of Hickory; sons Kenneth Andrews of Jackson, Tenn., Steve Andrews of Asheboro; and four grand-children.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville St., Asheboro, NC 27203; or Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
