Funeral Services for Mrs. Earnestine Synethia Barney of Baltimore, Maryland were held 2 P. M. Friday, November 3, 2006 at the March Funeral Home, 1101 East North Avenue, Baltimore, MD and on 12 Noon Saturday, November 4, 2006 at the Berry O. Waddy Funeral Home in Lancaster, Virginia;

Earnestine Synethia Jones Barney, loving referred to as Tina, daughter of the late Cleveland and Shirley Day, was born September 10, 1952 in Heathsville, Virginia.

She departed this life on October 29, 2006 after a lengthy illness.

Tina received her education in the New York City Public School System. She was employed as a private duty nurse for several years and enjoyed taking care of her patients.

Earnestine was happily married to George Barney for 33 years. They may not have had much, but they stuck together, and then never turned their backs on each other. When he was sick, she took care of him, and when she became ill, he took care of her until the end.

She was an excellent cook. Her children, nieces, and nephews all had their special requests: potato salad, sauerkraut and pig tails, macaroni salad, and sweet potato pie to name a few. Tina was a great homemaker. She kept everything and everyone running smoothly. Tina was there for anyone who needed help and would give a person her last.

She leaves to mourn: her husband, George Barney; seven children: Ronald Jones, Zerick Jones, Shannon Barney, Latoya Brown, Issac Barney and Kelly Barney all of Baltimore, Maryland and George Barney, Jr. of Tennessee; two stepdaughters: Georgette Barney and Georgina Brabbush of Tennessee; two daughters-in-law: Kesia Jones and Arnitra Jones of Baltimore, Maryland; two sons-in-law: Kevin Brown and George Brabbush; three sisters: Doris Powers, Joyce Day and Connie Crowder of Baltimore, Maryland; two brothers-in-law, ten sisters-in-law, sixteen grandchildren, four nieces, two nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Interment Services were held at the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Heathsville, Virginia where she was buried beside her mother, Shirley Day. Her pallbearers: Ronald Jones, Zerick Jones, Issac Barney, George Barney, Kevin Brown, Sr., and Travis Towles. Her floral bearers were friends and family.

Services of comfort and trust entrusted to March Funeral Home in Baltimore, Maryland and to the Berry O. Waddy Funeral Home, Lancaster, Virginia.
