FUNERAL OF MRS. DE MILLE
The body of Mrs. De Mille, who died in Vancouver last Monday morning, will arrive in Calgary tonight, and the funeral will take place from the First Baptist church tomorrow at 2 o'clock.
Deceased went to Vancouver about two weeks ago in the hopes that the change of climate might benefit her as she had been in poor health for some time previous. She went to stay with her sister and it was at the sister's home that she passed quietly away.
Mrs. De Mille was the eldest daughter of H. D. Graves, who has resided in Calgary for the past 24 years. She came here 15 years ago and with her husband soon settled on a ranch three miles south on the Macleod trail, where they have since resided.
One sister, Mrs. Dr. Nicholson, lives in Vancouver, and another sister, Mrs. Thos. Underwood, lives in Calgary.
Her [son], Ora, accompanied [his] mother to Vancouver and is now bringing the body back for burial. Deceased leaves a husband and four children, Howard, Ora, William and Bert, to mourn her loss.
The Daily Herald, Calgary, Thursday, December 19, 1907, page 1
Note: Ancestry also shows that Bessie was survived by two daughters: Carolyn, who married Samuel Lancefield; and Elizabeth 'Bessie' who married William Jenkins. This is confirmed in Ora's obituary, listing his two sisters.
