Angela Decicco (nee McEvoy), 64, passed away at the Jersey Shore Medical University Center, Neptune, NJ, on Thursday, March 24, 2011.
Angela emigrated from Ireland at age 10 with her family and settled in Harrison, NJ where she grew up. She attended St. Vincent's Academy in Newark, NJ and Jersey City State College where she earned her teaching degree in 1970. Angela taught at St. Columba's School and Ann Street School in the iron bound section of Newark. Angela was also a leader in the special reading programs for disadvantaged students in Kansas City, Missouri. She was devoted to her family and the children she impacted throughout her long teaching career.
Angela is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald Decicco of Belmar, NJ. Cherished mother to her sons: Matthew and his wife Beth Decicco of Chatham, NJ, and Brian Decicco of NYC. Adored grandmother to her grandchildren Dylan, Nolan, and Lainey. Cherished sister to Mary, Rose, Joanne, Mel, Monica and Joseph, Andrew, Paul, Gerry, Patrick.
Arrangements through Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ. Funeral ceremony to be held on Monday, March 28th at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Service at St. Mary's Church, 15 Myers Ave., Denville, NJ. Committal and Internment service to immediately follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, NJ.
