After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Connecticut in 1960, Virginia had a long career as a school nurse, beloved by children and staff at many schools in Stratford and Milford, most notably Calf Pen Meadow and Harborside.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who loved to laugh. She spent many recent summers with Ed and the family at their Roy Carpenters beach cottage in Matunuck, RI.
She also loved to travel, play bingo and shop for bargains. A dedicated friend, Virginia maintained close friendships with many of her childhood school mates and neighbors.
