Michael G. DeFeo, 75, of North Syracuse, NY, died Monday with his family beside him in St. Joseph's Hospital & Health Center, Syracuse, NY, after a long illness. Born in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late John and Louise DeFeo. He was a fork lift operator, employed by General Electric, Syracuse, NY.
He was predeceased by his sister, Josephine Ploski; brother, Anthony DeFeo; son, David DeFeo Sr.; and grandson, David DeFeo Jr.
Survived by his wife, Rose Ann (Sanders) DeFeo; three daughters, Pat (Jim) Fekos, Nancy (Eric) Paddock, Terry Smith; one son, Michael (Linda) J. DeFeo; one sister, Ann (Lou) Gartieri; one brother, Joseph (Betty) DeFeo; stepdaughter, Dawn (Robert) Chrisler; stepson, Michael (Marcia) Woodworth; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Sears-Middleton-Jones Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street (Rte. 11), North Syracuse, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima, 409 S. Main Street, North Syracuse. Interment will be Thursday in North Syracuse Cemetery, North Syracuse.
Michael's family would like to thank the staff of 1-8 floor of St. Joseph's Hospital and Hematology-Oncology Associates of CNY for their caring and compassionate care given to him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be sent to NAVAC or N. Syracuse Fire Dept.
