"Mabel K. Bowers, 85, of Whitehall, PA, formerly of Holland Township, NJ, passed away on Thursday January 27, 2011 at Fellowship Manor in Whitehall. Born: July 8, 1925 in Phillipsburg, NJ, daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Klinko Deacon. Mabel's husband William R. Bowers passed away in 2000. Mabel moved to Holland Township in 1960. She was a homemaker. Mabel also had served as an Air Raid Warden during World War II. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, baking, painting and gardening. She was an active member of the First United Church of Christ in Milford where she had served as a Deacon, choir member, Sunday school teacher and coordinator of the food pantry. Mabel was also active in her community and was a former member of the Kitchenaires Band of the Riegel Ridge in Holland Township, the Musical Arts Chorus of Easton, PA, the Milford V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, and a life-member of the Holland Township Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Interment in Bloomsbury Cemetery."
