Opelousas - A mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy Pastorick Dean will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the Our Lady Queen of Angel Catholic Church in Opelousas. The interment will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas. Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen will celebrate the mass.
Mrs. Dean, age 87, a resident of Opelousas died on Monday, December 19, 2011, at the St. Landry Extended Care Hospital in Opelousas.
She was active in many civic organizations and will be mostly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a dear friend to many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sons, Frank E. Dean, Jr. and wife, Susie Childs Dean, of New Iberia; Donald B. Dean and wife, Monette McLeoud Dean, of Opelousas; William H. Dean and wife, Jane Wallet Dean, of Baton Rouge; G. Douglas Dean and wife, Tina Hebert Dean, of Opelousas; James W. Dean and wife, Jane Willis Dean, of Longview, TX; Gregory B. Dean and wife Tina Trouille Dean, of Opelousas; her daughter, Betty D. Rozas and husband, Nicholas Rozas, of Breaux Bridge; her brother, Wallace J. Pastorick, Jr. of Baton Rouge and her sister, Joycelyn Agnes Stevens of Yuma, AZ. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. Frank E. Dean, Sr.; her parents, Wallace J. Pastorick, Sr. and Lorena M. Bazar Pastorick; her sister, Lila Mae Caldwell; her grandson, Garret Blaine Dean and her great-grandson, William Dean.
