Carolyn M. Delaney, of Syracuse, passed away Friday at Birchwood Health Center. A Pennsylvania native, she spent most of her life in the Syracuse Area. She attended George Washington University and was employed by the Department of State in Washington, DC, before moving to Central New York. Mrs. Delaney was a former member and president of the Onondaga County Dental Auxiliary. Carolyn was also a longtime member of St. Joseph's Hospital and Community General Hospital auxiliaries. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dr. William T. Delaney; two daughters, Patricia A. Stone of Doylestown, PA, and Lynn A. Pitman of New Smyrna Beach, FL; son, William J. Delaney of Providence, RI; two sisters, Claire Butcho of Alexandria, VA, and Celie Ayers of Allentown, PA; and three grandsons, Brian, Doug and Ryan. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Church, and burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church, 3127 James Street, Syracuse, NY 13206.
