Anna Alexander Denmark, 81, of St. Simons Island died Friday, July 1, 2005, at her residence.

She was a native of West Virginia and had been a resident of St. Simons Island for 51 years. She earned her Master's degree in nursing from Armstrong College and worked at the local hospital for 27 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of St. Simons, where she was also in a Bible Study Group. She enjoyed reading, opera and studies of England and Great Britain. She loved her family and God.

She is survived by a son, Daniel Denmark of St. Simons Island; two nieces, Donna Postal of Marion, Ohio, and Barbara Rasey of Jacksonville, Fla.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at the First Baptist Church of St. Simons with the Rev. Joe Glisson officiating.

The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
