Obituary:

Deanna DeSha Brown, 51, of Houston, Texas passed away at her daughter's home early Sunday morning, August 30th, 2015 after a long struggle with cancer. She was born on January 2nd, 1964 to the late Judy DeSha and Robert DeSha. Deanna was a beloved wife, mother, sister, friend and neighbor.

Deanna was widowed 3 years ago. Her late husband, James Brown, passed away suddenly in 2012. This was devastating to her and her family but his passing brought her closer to her family and friends.

She was a beloved mother of two. Her eldest, Melinda Wheeler from her first marriage, and a son, Levi Brown, born 12 years later. She loved being a mother and devoted her life to loving and providing for her children.

Deanna loved playing softball and spent most of her life doing so. She was an enthusiastic second baseman. It was on the field that she made many memories with the people that would eventually become her lifelong friends.

Deanna spent over 20 years working for Larson Juhl as a warehouse manager. After many years of loyal service to Larson, she was diagnosed with a terminal cancer. She spent the next year battling health problems in between living her life to the fullest and making the most with the time she had left on this earth.

All who knew Deanna felt the love and joy in her heart. She was a loyal and caring, mother, sister, and friend. She was taken from us much too soon and will be missed by many.

She is survived by her daughter, Melinda Wheeler, son, Levi Brown, and 3 siblings, Diane Mastromatteo, Daniel DeSha and Deborah DeSha and additional relatives and extended family.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday September 1st, 2015 at Fairbanks United Methodist Church. Burial service to follow at Carmen Nelson Bostick Historic Cemetery.
