Mrs. Mary Baird, 81, of 801 St. Louis street died Friday at 3:30 p.m. at her home. Born Sept. 15, 1877 in Edwardsville, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Esther Choate Desmond.
She was married on Jan. 12, 1903 in this city to Robert J. Baird, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Dr. Robert D. Baird of Melford, Conn., and a brother, T.A. Desmond, Edwardsville.
Mrs. Baird was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church.
The body may be viewed at the Weber funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday until Monday morning. A requiem mass will be said at 9 o'clock that day at St. Mary's church with the Rev. P.P. McGuinness, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
The rosary will be recited at the funeral home Sunday evening at 8 o'clock.
Pallbearers were Otis Metzger, Charles Hofeditz, Roy and John Fruit, Ralph Bennett and Alvin Wood.
