Mrs. Adeline J. Ames, 86, widow of the late William T. Ames, and mother of three lake boat captains died at her home here Thursday morning. Mrs. Ames has been in ill health for some time. Born in Dresden, Ont., in 1839, Mrs. Ames moved to Russell's Island with her family in 1843.
She has always lived in the vicinity, and is survived by four sons, Capt. August Ames, D.E. Ames, and Capt. F. C. Ames, all of Algonac, and Capt. William J. Ames of Detroit.: three sisters, Mrs. Martha Richardson, Mrs. Lucy A. Purdy, and Mrs. Lois D. Johnson, all of Portland, Me.
Funeral services will be held from the Episcopal Chruch at 2 PM Saturday, Rev. E. L. English officiating and burial in Oaklawn Cemetery."
