Carmel Desmond Cormack, a native of Kinsale, Ireland, died on January 28, 2011. She was survived by her husband, James Cormack. The couple met when Cormack visited San Francisco and were married for forty-nine years. Mrs. Cormack was the owner and operator of the Gatos Theatre in Los Gatos, California, and the manager of a San Francisco film distribution business in the 1970s. She was preceded in death by her brothers Donal, Mike, and Denis, and her sister Noreen Griffen. Besides her husband, Mrs. Cormack was survived by her brothers, Jeremiah and John, and her sisters, Stella Foley and Peggy Coleman, and many nieces and nephews.
