Shelby, N.C. - Norma Devon Biggerstaff, 76, of North Lafayette Street, Shelby, died on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at SECU Hospice House of Rutherford County.

A native of Cleveland County, she was born on January 22, 1937, a daughter of the late Bryant Devon and Irene Smith Devon.

She was a retired Daycare Owner and member of Chase Baptist Church where was a nursery worker and loved her Sunday School class. She loved crocheting, cooking, reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Biggerstaff, Sr. and one son, Roy Biggerstaff, Jr.

She is survived by one son, Mark Biggerstaff of Mooresboro; one brother, Roger Devon and wife Sue of Sharon, S.C.; one sister, Judy Bowen and husband Junior of Mooresboro; three grandchildren, Roy Biggerstaff, III, Cindy Biggerstaff, and Nikki Ellenburg and husband Aaron; her great grandchildren, Hannah, Haley, ans Harrison Coffey; special niece, Sharon Holland; daughter-in-law, Robin Martin and husband Bo; numerous other nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2013 with the Rev. Scott Butler officiating. Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service. A private burial will held at a later date.
