She was born Aug. 4, 1854 in Scott county, Ind.She came to Shelbyville at the age of 16 and has made her home in Decatur the past 44 years.
She married Napoleon Wortman in 1865; he died in 1884.In 1889, she married Joseph M. Dicken; he died in 1902. She has been a member of the Third United Brethren church for 23 years.
She leaves two children, Mrs. Gertrude Nell and Joseph C. Dicken, both of Decatur. Five grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters also survive: O.H. Whitsitt, Mrs. Anna Best, Mrs. Ella Grimstead, Mrs. Alice Hinderliter, and Mrs. Harriett Whitsitt, all of Decatur.
