Charles Hoyt Dickens, 67, of LeClaire, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014 in Davenport due to heart complications. Visitation will be Friday, April 18, 2014 at 9 a.m. with the service to follow at 10 a.m. at The Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL.

Charles was born July 3, 1946 in Florence, South Carolina. He graduated from Davenport West High School and served in the United States Navy.

He was a member of the Midwest Operating Engineers Local #150. He enjoyed photography, spending time with his family and joking around with friends.

Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Miriam (Harrell) Burks, Davenport; children: Brian (Carolyn) Dickens, Chicago and Bree (Jay) Johannsen, Bettendorf; grandchildren: Helena, Jackson, Lola and Chloe and a brother, Michael Krieger. He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Krieger.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
